The apartment benefits from a very central position, being located in the Marais district (3rd arrondissement). Only moments away you find the Picasso Museum, housed into a precious building (Hotel Salé) of the XVII century: the museum offers around 5000 works of the artist and a rich archive. It is the only public collection in the world that allows to fully appreciate the development of Picasso's art.
Within walking distance is also the Musée de l'Histoire de France, a state museum occupying two noble buildings of the XIV century, the Hotel de Soubisse and the Hotel de Rohan. The collections of the museum includes documents hand-written by Louis XVI, Danton, Robespierre and Napoleon.
At 1 km you also find the Centre Pompidou, in the 4th arrondissement: designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, it is home to the Public Information Library, the Musée National d'Art Moderne, and the IRCAM, a centre for music research.
Marais is one of the best districts in Paris for shopping – the best vintage shops of the city are located right here – and it offers plenty of bookshops, cafès and lovely restaurants. Moreover, it is a popular meeting point for the Jewish community (the best felafels are to be found here).
Moreover, the district is a pleasant spot for strolling and window-shopping: Rue des Rosiers is a pedestrian area, whilst Rue des Francs-Bourgeois and Rue du Temple are partially close to traffic on Sunday.
The closest subway stop is Froissart (line 8) to Opera and Place de la Concorde; Saint-Paul subway stop (line 1) is about 600 meters away, Oberkampf subway stop is at 800 meters (lines 5,9).
