Modern one bedroom apartment for vacation rentals in Paris of about 40 sq.mt located on the first floor of a highly secured building (with elevator). Quai des Célestins is on the edge of le Marais by the river Seine facing the Isle Saint Louis. This particular area is called the Village Saint-Paul.
The apartment layout has been well developed, with a smart and efficient use of its space. Upon entering a corridor with convenient built-in closets leads to the living room, a bright room where the soft lilac washed walls and light wooden floor create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The room itself is divided in two parts, of which one is the sitting area, complete with a sofa bed (120x190) and two armchairs by the TV and radio, and the other the open plan kitchen and dining area, with a fully equipped kitchen with stark white cabinets and a dining table for 6. The large windows offer a refreshing view of the inner courtyard with trees and green.
The bedroom has two separate entrances through sliding doors, one from the corridor and the other from the living room, enabling one to open up all the rooms and create a loft type environment, as preferred. In addition to its comfortable double bed (190x160 to be separated into two singles upon request) it offers storage space and a TV set with integrated DVD player. Opposite from the bedroom in the corridor is the bathroom, with white tiled walls and a light blue tiled flooring and complete with a basin a tub with overhead shower, a bidet and a toilet.
Please note that pets are not allowed.
The apartment is located in one of the most unique places Paris has to offer: the Village Saint Paul (in the 4th arrondissement), between Quai de Célestins and Quai Saint-Antoine. It is a small village right behind the church of Saint-Paul, which was absorbed into the city back in the XIV century.
Today belonging to the Marais, the district is set apart by the many noble palaces (‘hôtels particuliers’), the paved streets, the picturesque art galleries and the lovely cafés part of the most typical Paris atmosphere.
The streets are peaceful from Monday to Friday - allowing the artists to quietly work in their ateliers - waking up at the weekends, when small antique and vintage markets (‘brocantes’) spread in the area.
Within walking distance is also the Place des Vosges and the Bastille, whilst - walking towards the Seine river - you find the Ile de la Cite: here you can visit one of the most famous Paris’ monuments, the marvellous Notre Dame Cathedral, a landmark of the Gothic architecture in France.
In addition, the Hotel de la Ville, home to Paris’ city hall and precious historical monument, is only 900 meters away (10 min. on foot).
In immediate vicinity you also find the ‘Maison Européenne de la Photographie’, one of the most important centres of contemporary photography opened in February 1996.
In the area there are also supermarkets and services for daily shopping: the closest ones are placed in Rue Saint-Antoine (Monoprix and the organic grocery store ‘Naturalia’).
The closest subway stops are Pont-Marie (line 7), Sully Morland (line 7) and Saint Paul (line 1).
Garages in the area:
- Parking Sully in 5 rue Agrippa d'Aubigné, at about 300 meters
- VINCI Park in 48 rue de l'Hotel de Ville, at about 400 meters
