Garibaldi – Isola: design, business, culture

The Garibaldi-Isola district has been object of a large transformation plan ahead of Expo 2015, which has affected three areas of Milan: Garibaldi-Repubblica, Varesine and Isola. The buildings have been designed by famous Italian and foreign architects, chosen during international competitions, and some of them have also won important prizes, such as the ‘Bosco Verticale’ (‘Vertical Forest’), reckoned as the most beautiful skyscraper in the world.

The residential project of Porta Nuova expresses a new living philosophy, where the individual is at the middle of the design, and coziness blends with a contemporary atmosphere.

Inside this new area, people find office spaces -including the new Italian Google offices housed into the Ziggurat-, residential buildings, commercial areas, aggregation places, cultural centers, green areas -such as the ‘Giardini di Porta Nuova’, 90.000 sq.mt large – as well as the ultra-modern institutional pole that accommodates the headquarters of the Lombardia region (Piazza Città di Lombardia).

The Garibaldi-Isola district is the perfect location for renting an apartment in Milan, for both businesspeople and tourists who want to be at a stone’s throw from the thriving nightlife of Brera and Corso Como.

Here you find a number of tram, bus and metro stops (green line MM3, Garibaldi and Gioia, and the sparkling new purple line MM5, Garibaldi), as well as the nearby train station Garibaldi F.S.
