ROME | Flaminio – Parioli
The district Flaminio has undergone important developments ahead of the Olympic Games of 1960, when the Olympic Village, the Flaminio Stadium and the Palazzetto dello Sport (Sport Arena) were constructed.Nevertheless, the main renovations date to the ‘90, when the Music Hall (Auditorium) by Renzo Piano, and the MAXXI (Museum of the Arts of the XXI Century) by Zaha Hadid, also home to a big library, comprising a rich audiovisual section, were built.Parioli, centred on Viale Parioli and Viale Maresciallo Pilsudski, is an elegant area in Rome city centre. In the district, planned during the Fascist government as residential area for the upper-middle class, you find the prestigious LUISS university, the big park of Villa Ada and the gardens of the Galleria Borghese.
The area is served by the train stations Euclide and Acqua Acetosa, and by the subway line A (Flaminio stop), that connect to the Vatican and Termini station.
